What Causes Headache, Pulsatile Tinnitus, Dizziness And High BP?

Hi, I have been experiencing headaches and pulsatile tinnitus in one ear. I sometimes have dizzy spells as well and random spikes of my blood pressure. I have also felt completely drained since this has all started. I have been to my primary care doctor and had full blood work done, she didn t seem to think there was anything wrong. So I referred myself to an ear, nose and throat specialist. He looked in my throat and nose and ears. Cleaned my ears out and then referred me to a neurologist. I have seen the neurologist a few times. I have now had an MRI done, an ultrasound of my neck and recently a spinal tap. The MRI and ultrasound came back normal. The neurologist said my numbers on the spinal tap were on the high side of normal. He mentioned he is not sure what else he can do for me. I don t know what else to do, but I feel like I m going to go crazy feeling like this every day. This has all been going on since September. Please help!

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi,

Your all symptoms are commonly seen with hypertension. In my opinion, you should definitely watch your blood pressure readings at least 6-8 times a day. You may need antihypertensive drug if your readings are above 140/90 mmHg. Another cause can be migraine.

In migraine, all reports including MRI, ultrasound, blood reports are normal. You can take Propranolol and Flunarizine combination at night for 1 month and see for improvement. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
