What Causes Headache, Soreness, Back And Stomach Ache And Cramping?

I was recently hospitalized on 8/30 for 104.2 fever. And was discharged saying that I had a kidney infection and was dehydrated. I have had a head ache ever since. It gets increasingly worse at night. And all day today I feel sore. In my lower back and lower stomache. Its sore to the touch and coughing is just terrible. Every once in awhile I get a really bad cramp like labor pain. There isn t a possibility that im pregnant. Im scarred and in pain but do not want to go to the ER. If its nothing.

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that headache may be a nonspecific symptoms of many general health conditions like : an infection, chronic anemia, inflammation, blood electrolytes imbalance, depression, anxiety, metabolic disorders, etc.

So it is true that a kidney infection, could cause a similar clinical scenario.
Regarding the abdominal pain, a kidney infection can mimic labor cramps.

I recommend consulting with your attending physician and perform a good physical examination, a routine blood test, an urine analysis, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes and an abdominal ultrasound, to examine better your situation.

An urine culture may be needed to find out the type of infection and the proper therapy.

Hope to have been of help!

Greetings!
Dr. Aida
