What Causes Headache, Stuffy Sinus, Loose Stools And Joints Pain?

For the past three days I have had a general feeling of malaise with a slight headache, stuffy sinuses, loose stools with occasional aches and pains in my legs and joints. I live on a small farm in Kentucky and so am outside every day. I am 79 but I am always tired (I do not sleep as well as I would like. I have had some bites.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about a 79 year old patient having malaise, headache, loose stools and occasional joint and muscle pains, lives in a small farm and have no good sleep and have some bites.
A combination of symptoms that you have mentioned look to be due to viral infection, watch for similar symptoms in family members and neighbourhood.
Take Paracetamol as per your weight.
Take multivitamins, mineral and trace elements as supplements.
If you do not get repief within few days then it would be better to go to the Doctor nearby and get a proper clinical evaluation and investigations of blood, urine and stool to get a confirmed diagnosis.
Also discuss with him about low sleep as you need a prescription based medication for such problems.
If there is any evidence f bacterial infection then you will need a course of an antibiotic also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
