Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am frequently woken in the early morning hours with mild to severe headache. The only effective relief is to sit upright in a chair for an hour or more- not the ideal cure at 3am on a winters morning! Panadol and other so-called headache cures have absolutely no effect. In desparation Tramadol gives some relief but unpleasant after effects and is not for regular use. I am 83 y/o and apart from the headaches in very good health, drink little alcohol, have tried Physio for neck manipulation, purchased an expensive mattress and pillow and discussed with GP many times but the problem continues! Would appreciate any suggestions Thankyou Vince
Frequent mild to moderate headache starting inthe morning may be it seems ypu have migrain. You are 85years of age please get you BP checked and CT scan done to rule any pathology. If i have to treat such a patient i will advice tab metoprpralol 50mg twicr a day and tab disprin sos. The dose of tab metopropralol may have to be increased gradualy taking care of pulse rate. I will advice blood test lipid profile also to check cholestrol. If every thing is normal then tab metopropralol has to be continued..
