Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 59 yr old husband has a slight headache over his left eye area and a very slight blurriness in the left eye. The eye dr said it could be caused by a recent cold/ sinus congestion from a month ago. He has no cold symptoms now. He is in very good health. your thoughts? I am concerned that it could have been a mini stroke. YYYY@YYYY
I would recommend you to have an ERS rate done to rule out temporal arteritis which is a possible cause of headache and vision changes in elderly. It is a simple, cheap test and rules it out completely. If the ERS is less than 20 (temporal arteritis causes it to go over 100) then it is sure he does not have it.
If the doctor did a full examination, including a thorough neurological exam, very likely your husband does not have a stroke. Any new neurological symptoms should prompt quick medical assistance though.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
