Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, in the past few days I have had a mild headache coupled ith a smell of blood in my nose but I don t get a nose bleed. A few weeks ago I was exposed to spray paint fumes for an extended period of time. is that connected? If so should I seek treatment?
Very likely the headache and the smell of blood in the nose is related to rhinitis due to a viral infection. Spray paint may cause nasal symptoms as well but is unlikely to affect you weeks later.
You can do some nasal irrigation with normal saline solution 0.9% 2-3 times a day in the next few days and use paracetamol and ibuprofen to help with the headache. If you notice no improvement in the next 3-4 days or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
