Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a hysterectomy a little over a week ago and am having nagging headaches. Not migraine. Just an almost constant irritating pain. Could it be related to the anesthetic I was give during surgery? I don t know what it was. Is it common to have headaches post hysterectomy?
Most of the instances postoperative headache is due to alteration in the CSF pressure via lumbar puncture procedure done to introduce spinal anesthesia for the surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
