What Causes Headaches After A Lithotripsy?

I had lithotripsy yesterday (for the third time). I m 62 yr old male. The specialist told me it was fine. However, I ve had a noticeable headache since. I don t recall this from the past. I ve also had the usual blood in my urine and a bit of soreness (about 3 on a scale of 1 to 10). But those don t concern me - they ll pass. Are headaches normal after lithotripsy? I m hesitant to take any ibuprofen or aspirin for the next couple of days until my kidney really gets over the shock of it all.

Hi,

Please let me know, whether any injection was given to your back (spine) before lithotripsy and in which side you are getting headache (frontal/temporal/occipital or neck region).

Weather headache is associated with any nausea, vomiting, vision changes, etc. If headache is troublesome, you can safely take tablet Paracetamol 3 times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sonali Tripathi
