What Causes Headaches Along With Fever And Body Ache?

My daughter has had headaches, fever, body aches. Went to a doctor yesterday they said flu was negative, and that possibly strep throat because swollen glands and rapid strep test came back mildly positive (I looked at her throat but it looked ok to me before we went to the doctor). She started on abx last night. Today her headache is worse and her eyes are very puffy and almost swollen shut. Doesn t seem like strep throat symptoms to me. Could it be mumps?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
this is spring season might be allergic to pollen around as implied by her swollen puffy eyes and congested sinuses giving her headache and fever due to severe inflammation reactions going on.

if throat seems ok and no swollen glands she is unlikely to be having strep throat or mumps.

better give her antihistamines claritin and decongestants and steroid shots to make her feel better if antibiotics not helping.

it's always better to rule out the worst first that is to rule out meningitis.
