Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Headaches Along With Sore Throat And Pressure In The Ears?
My students have been sick all year and I ve had 4 different ear infections since November. I feel horrible with two days of headache, sore throat-getting hoarse, roof of my mouth really hurts, and the pressure in my ears is throbbing. I just finished a good round of antibiotics a month ago.
As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat and pressure in the ears which seems to be due to respiratory tract infection as it travel from throat to ear through Eustachian tube (connect throat to middle ear and maintain the pressure of middle ear) and leading to its dysfunctioning.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline rinses several times a day and give dry warm compresses to external ear. Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object. You should consult ENT specialist for proper examination without any delay and to prevent the further spread of infection.
Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course at least for 5 days along with ear drops.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Priyanka Tiwari
