What Causes Headaches And Chest Pain While On Antibiotics And Phenazopyridine?
I have been !!! With uti infection. Fever running between 99.6 and 100.5. I got a shot of antibotics yesterday and am taking oral antibiotics as well as phenazopyridine. I am having a constant head ache and chest pain on the right side. Is this normal for a uti infection
Hello there! Thank you for writing us here. Phenazopyridine is an analgesic for burning urination. The most common side effect is pain in chest and stomach. I would suggest you to reduce the dose of phenazopyridine to half of its original dose. Continue your antibiotics till 5 days alright? And don't miss any shot of it. You'll be better in few days and there's nothing to worry about the pain in chest, it too would subside if you reduce the dose of phenazopyridine. Regards, Dr Gunjan
