What Causes Headaches And Dizziness While Suffering From Meniere S Disease?

I have suffered from vertigo which causes me to be unable to concentrate, focus my vision, or balance my body well. I was told I have Meniere s disease with inner ear problems. I wake up every day with a headache and imbalance. Allergies and change in weather seem to affect this condition. I am beginning to believe it may be a neurological issue.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Headaches, dizziness, loss of balance, vertigo, nausea or sensation of ringing in the ears are symptoms of Meniere's disease. It does Not look like any neuralgia at present. Miniere's disease affects the inner ear & may cause balance & hearing problems. Visit an ENT specialist & get examined, you will have to go through certain tests like audiometry, ENG test, ABR test, ECOG tests & CT or MRI if required. Take Vertin for relieve, stay away from addiction if any, avoid caffeine, MSG in your diet. Avoid driving. Along this physical therapy is effective, stay connected to a physiotherapist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
