Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Headaches And Earache After Taking Cefdinir For Sinusitis?
my daughter was given cefdinir for a sinus infection. She has taken 5 does and feels even worse. Her new symptoms are a really bad headache and ear pain and she feels she cannot focus. Her original symptoms are no better. I m not sure if this is the right med for her.
The possibilities are intolerance and allergy to cefdinir but other more serious possibilities have to be ruled out such as acute otitis mediameningitis.
I have refer her immediately for CT imaging--low dose high-resolution full blood cell count PCR viruses bacteria from ear nose and throat and seek ENT SPECIALIST ASSESSMENT IF NECESSARY while doing microbiology do antibioctics sensitivity testing and take it from here and there.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Drlaw, General & Family Physician
