What Causes Headaches And Nose Bleeds In A Hypoglycemia Patient?

My granddaughter just called. She is in California. And is not feeling well. Headache, nose bleeds. She is at a higher altitude than she is used to. She has hypoglycemia tho doesn t think this is the problem. I have suggested breathing in vapors from steam to moisten the nares as it is dry where she is. But don t know what else I can tell her to do. She just got out of the navy and does have any health isyrance till next month. Any suggestions. Please

hi
thanks for posting in HCM
i have understand your concern

probabilities of headache are
1.acute mountain sickness
2.cerebral edema and raised intracranial pressure secondary to high altitude
3.hypoglycemia

probabilities of nose bleed are
1. dryness of nasal mucosa as you rightly said
2.increased BP secondary to hypoglycemia

i can suggest her to take
tab . paracetamol 500 mg 6 th hourly or
tab. naxdom 500 mg twice daily
maintaining normal blood sugars
steam inhalation

better suggestion is to bring her to sea level at the earliest.

any further questions , get back to me
hope this helps you
thanks .
