What Causes Headaches And Pain In The Hand?

Can chronic headaches and increasing hand pain (not related to carpel tunnel) be related? Headaches lasts for days (5-6) at a time with up to 20+ headache days a month. Current meds are generic for Immetrix 100mg, generic for fiorocet and topramax 100mg( increasing dose 25mg x 1 wk 50mg 2nd wk, 75mg 3rd wk and 100mg for this last full week. (Meds not effective at present. ) Hands are going numb, can have tingling and pain, frequently. Right hand first three digits can cramp in claw form, easy to massage, pain is usually brief. Fine moter movement can get dificult. Neurologist is planning on sending me to rheumatology. Any suggestions? YYYY@YYYY

Migraines can cause numbness in your hands. If you have a headache and numb hands, you should see a medical provider because it could be caused by a hemiplegic migraine. ... This paralysis can start in the hand and extend to the arm and can also occur in the leg or face.
