What Causes Headaches, Insomnia And Hot Flushes In Face?

Last week I had a cold. It seemed to dissipate by Tuesday this week. Since then, however, I have had a significant headache, inability to sleep, flushing of the my face in the afternoon. Tylenol takes the edge off, but does not get rid of it. Excedrin just made me feel worse. Thoughts?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of headaches, insomnia and hot flushes in face which seems to be due to viral infection due to compromised immunity of your body and susceptibility of getting infected. Sometimes initially the infection is viral but with times secondary bacterial infection occur , which cause further complication or symptoms can also occur due to sleep apnea . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay. Doctor may prescribe anti viral acyclovir/ antibacterial penicillin along with anti inflammatory medications. Doctor may order blood test to confirm diagnosis. You should take proper rest. Yous hould take muscle relaxants if fever is of high grade.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
