What Causes Headaches, Sore Throat And Swelling In Gums Inspite Of Taking NyQuil?

My husband had gotten a hoarse voice and sore throat and not feeling well he took allergy pill and NyQuil for 2 days and is better now I my symptoms went in this order: headaches, sore throat, pain and swelling on top right back section of gums, and really terrible body aches, and no appetite. What is this?!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain headache, sore throat and swollen gums seems to be due to bacterial infection in throat which is also causing infection in the vocal cords leading to horse voice [Laryngitis].
You should take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, warm saline gargles, throat lozenges and chew a vitamin C pellet daily..
Take plenty of fluids and sip on warm water throughout the day..
Massage your gums using an antimicrobial ointment for relief..
