Hi,
The coil is a form of contraception used by women to prevent unwanted pregnancies from unprotected sexual intercourses. Women may notice irregular, frequent, painful, heavy or
prolonged menstrual bleeding in the 3-6 months following coil insertion.
Some women may experience some other side effects such as spotting or breakthrough
bleeding between periods, stomach cramps or pain, headache, nausea, vomiting, vaginal bleeding,
vaginal discharge, sweating, fatigue, unusual tiredness and weakness, exhaustion,
vaginal dryness, changes in sexual drive, dizziness, drowsiness, breast tenderness and enlargement, acnes, facial hair growth, hot flashes, changes in body weight, dry mouth etc. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then you should inform your doctor first for medical attention and further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
