What Causes Hearing Issues With Redness In Ears?

My husband is having problems hearing. A Dr. said they were red but there was no wax or inflammation. He was given an antibiotic, which is making him itch and messing his stomach up so he is not taking it as prescribed. Prescription ear drops are not helping either. It has been over a week and he is not any better.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to side effects of the antibiotics.

I suggest stopping the use of antibiotics.

I also suggest using daily antihistamines to relieve the side effects such as Cetirizine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
