Hi, I am a 21 year old female. I m experiencing hearing loss in my right ear only along with constant ringing and pressure. I thought maybe it was a wax build up or something but the doctor I just saw recommended me to an ENT for possible Meniere s disease. I d like to know a little more about this and my chances of actually having it
Let me tell you that symptoms described by you suggests that you may have Ménière s disease. Ménière’s disease is a disorder of the inner ear that causes severe dizziness (vertigo), ringing in the ears (tinnitus), hearing loss, and a feeling of fullness or congestion in the ear. Ménière’s disease usually affects only one ear. For diagnosis of Meniere's disease requires: A hearing test (audiometry) Vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP) testing
