Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, both my ears take turns in temporary hearing loss and both hurt at times, not everyday but once a month my left ear becomes clogged and the only way it uncloggs for about 2 seconds is if I burp. Today my right ear feels numb and it itches and hurts.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....
As per your complain it seems that you have Chronic Ear Infection and it reactivates chronically leading to pain in ear, itching as well as clogged feeling can be due to fluid/pus accumulation behind the ear drum.. Many a times the infected fluid is not completely cleared off and only the bacterial count in it is reduced and as again the bacterial count increases there is proliferation of infection.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get an Otoscopic examination done and in case of infection antibiotics oral as well as ear drops, anti-inflammatory painkillers and decongestants will be advised.. If there is fluid drainage can be established as well as you might be advised to get ear tubes or Grommets put in for easy drainage and relieving pressure..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
