What Causes Hearing Loss And Tinnitus After Surgical Removal Of Acoustic Neuroma?
I had an acoustic nuroma removed a year ago last March. Total deafness in right ear, partial in the right. I experience some balance problems and tinnitis, but the main problem is the Dysgeusia. It started almost a year to the day after the surgery, and seems to get worse daily. Metallic and foul taste. I am truly miserable. Any ideas?
As per your query you have hearing loss and tinnitus after surgical removal of acoustic neuroma you also have problem of Dysgeusia. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like :-
- Sometimes infection occur after surgery due to low immunity or uncomplete antibiotics course .
I would suggest you to consult your ENT surgeon again for proper examination and rule out other causes . Doctor may order CT scan and MRI . Doctor may refer you to neurologist if he/she find problem to be related with nerve dysfunction or damage . Fow now do warm saline garglres and maintain orla hygiene .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
