Hello!
Thank you for asking on HCM!
I read your question carefully and understand your concern.
Her symptoms may be related to an intracranial cause, such as a ponto-cerebellar angle lesion, which can cause a similar clinical scenario.
I would like to explain that the acoustic nerve (responsible for hearing) and
trigeminal nerve (responsible for the face sensitivity), lay in this region of the brain. A lesion in this region ( like a tumor) could cause these symptoms, including
headaches.
I recommend consulting withe the
neurologist for a careful physical examination. A brain CT scan or MRI may be necessary to exclude this possible diagnosis.
If the above tests result normal I would advise consulting with the
ENT specialist for the
hearing loss, to exclude an ear disorder.
Auditive evoked potentials may be necessary to examine better the acoustic nerve, for possible neuropathy, not reveled by the MRI.
Hope to have been of help!
Best wishes,
Dr. Iliri
