Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Hearing Loss In Left Ear With Recurring Sharp Pain?
I have lost complete hearing in my left ear, occasional sharp ear pain, face and jaw pain, sometimes left side head pain. No pain severe. But speach sounds nasal and vibrates all left side. Doctor thinks I have trigeminal Neuralgia. I suggested Eustation tube blockage. Doctor thinks not. Any thoughts on this please
It could be Trigeminal Neuralgia or it could be upper respiratory infection including middle ear infection, rhinitis and sinusitis. And yes a eustachian tube blockage can also be present along with all this. Are you suffering from fever? If yes then it is most probably an infection. Be sure to ask again if you need anything more. Take care and good day.
