What Causes Hearing Loss In The Left Ear?

Hi I woke up in the morning three days ago with no hearing in my left ear , all I hear in my left is robotic/Dalek sounds , my right one is very low and I m struggling to hear , I went to see my gp who said not to worry he will refer me to a ENT specialist but this could take up to 3 weeks , next day I went to A+E department , who gave me steroids and I have to wait 2 weeks to see ENT , I am looking to buy a ear pooper to see if this can help as I m struggling with no hearing

Hello,

Most probably it will be due to some minor nerve contusion and thereby causing hearing defects.

In most cases, it will improve with steroids.

An MRI scan will be helpful for further evaluation.
