What Causes Hearing Of Voices In A Person With Drug Induced Psychosis?

I am suffering from drug induced psychosis from using crystal meth. I no longer use meth but I have been hearing voices, every waking hour, for three or four months now. These voices say it is God punishing me telling me to do ridiculous things (like continually running, exercising, or taking five or more showers back to back). The voices tell me I am in hell on earth and I certainly am. I would advise anyone reading this to leave drugs alone.I take methadone (130 mg) and I am taking 1mg a day of risperdal to make the voices go away. I take the methadone because I got addicted to pain medication. Am I taking enough risperdal to help? I am so depressed because I feel tormented all the time. Would lithium help me? Maybe I need to admit myself in the hospital. Please help me.

Hi,

You definitely need good psychologist for CBT therapy and he will decide your drugs, as it is so much bothering may need TMS therapy for which may need hospitalized and few drugs which are exactly for this need to take under guidance so it’s better in psychiatrist presence, whenever these episodes start to fade, learn yoga and breathing exercises and keep yourself busy. Do 10 creative things even for others.

Eat healthy fruits veggies, multivitamins for a week, antioxidants, amla, aloe vera, basil, salads etc., spend time with loved ones and stay from negative or bad company listen soft music calming music. Do not start any med on your own especially lithium.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
