Hi,I am Dr. Carol Rogala (Emergency Medicine). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband passed away with a heartattack he was in hoespital a night before and the docs said he is fine to leave he was never dignosed a heart patient but he was having a high bp which I know can cause heart attack. whaht I want to know is that i met him at the airport and at thime that time he was fine he picked up my suticase which were heavy why it did not give him a heart trouble at that time but after few hours?
Respected madam It really depressing to hear that you lost your husband. The mechanism of most cases of heart attack is such that it can not be predicted. Majority of sites in blood vessels of heart, where a clot develops and causes total blockage, are sub-critical prior to event. Only a critical block will announce itself in form of exertion angina (or pain in chest on lifting suitcase or heavy objects). Sub-critical plaques do not announce themselves in any situation or test but suddenly invite thrombus and cause 100% blockade and heart attack. That is the probable reason that your husband was able to lift suitcase but still sustained an attack. Sincerely Sukhvinder
