What Causes Heart Burn Accompanied With Mild Chest Pain?
my husband is experiencing heartburn with indigestion accompanied with dull, achy chest pain. the pain is localized to just the chest. we did eat a very rich, spicy dinner, so i am really not sure if there is anything to be worried about, but i thought i should check.
Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your query.
After a rich spicy dinner, acid reflux can cause heart burn or chest pain. You can give him antacids, PPI's (Pantoprazole - 40) for relieve.
However, sometimes MI may also manifest similar symptoms. Your husband is suggested to get a cardiac check up done at the earliest to stay on the safer side.
He will have to get CBC, Urinalysis, lipid function & stress tests done along with X-Ray, Echo, EKG done. The reports will determine whether there is a developing CAD(Coronary artery disease).
Your treatment will depend on the severity of the pathology detected. Hope I have answered your query. Take care. Regards, Dr Nupur K
