What Causes Heart Murmur And Skipping Of Heart Beats?
Hello, I am a 52 year old woman. Height and weight proportion is good.Quite active physically.I do have a non functioning heart murmur. Past 2 or 3 days, my heart will beat normally then will beat a hard beat...sort of like a skip. There has been quite a bit of stress in my life lately. I am wondering about possible problems.Thank you
Your symptoms seem to be related to palpitation. Palpitations can feel like the heart is fluttering, throbbing, flip-flopping, murmuring, or pounding. They can also feel like the heart skips a beat. Some suggestions are: - Reduce stress and anxiety (including panic attacks). Try alternative natural home remedies such as mediation, yoga, guided imagery, aromatherapy. - Avoid stimulants such as caffeine or nicotine. - Avoid drinking alcohol. - Avoid medications that are stimulants, such as cough and cold medications like pseudoephedrine ( Sudafed)
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
