What Causes Heart Palpitation After Using Tanning Lotion?
I used a tanning lotion that had the tingle factor in it this is not my first time using this product however this is the first time I have used it and had a racing heart I was light headed and felt like I was going to pass out what might have caused this. I ve used tingle lotions before but never this one. Reaction lasted almost an hour
thank you for your question... as per your history, it seems like acute anaphylactic reactions to a drug/chemical... as you were using it for the 1st time, this reaction can happen....also it can happen on further uses, so it is advisable not to use the same product again...and whenever using any product for the first time, make sure to use a small amount so that you can discontinue if any adverse effect occurs....
as for the management of the acute episode, if it is mild, i.m. phenergan 1 ampoule might be sufficient, also oral corticosteroids like prednisolone can be used...in a severe case, i.m. epinephrine should be given in adjusted dose and alongwith proper oxygenetion, cardiac monitoring and hydration with i.v. fluid should be ensured....
hope this is useful....
