You have not mentioned your age and gender. As you are telling that your iron level is low so you are suffering from iron deficiency anemia. Anemia is a medical condition in which blood hemoglobin comes down. Hemoglobin carries oxygen in parts of the body. So any deficiency will affect oxygen carrying capacity of blood resulting in less oxygen supply to different body parts. So when you do any strenuous activity like climbing upstairs, you feel tired resulting in shortness of breath. Heart has to pump more blood to tissue so you feel palpitation. Cause of anemia is also to be investigated. Other causes of SOB should also be investigated.
Advice
1.     Investigations – Hb%, CBC, ECG, Treadmill test
2.     Start taking your iron pill as soon as possible regularly for 3 months
3.     Measure your blood pressure
4.     Take high fiber diet to prevent constipation due to iron such as pure wheat bread, green vegetable, fruits like apple
5.     You can take Isogel (Ispagula husk) 2 teaspoonful in water swallowed immediately with meals one time daily for constipation
6.     Consult your doctor if further deterioration in health occurs
7.     Avoid strenuous activity
Thanks!!
