What Causes Heart Palpitations While Treating Sinus Infection?

Hi, I had a bad sinus infection a few weeks back which started a bout of heart palpitations.I thought it was the infection and/or cold medicine I was taking but since it has cleared up and I have stopped taking the medication I am still having some palpitations intermittently. I did an EKG with the Kardia mobile device which said there we no issues and I had an echocardiogram back in the fall which showed normal structure an function. My question is can a sever cold or sinus infection like I had can inflame the nerves in my chest to cause these palpitations?

Hi

In Acute infections, heart rate may be increased due to illness or anxiety. If the Ecg and Echo are normal and palpitations do not occur after infection control,no treatment is required.

Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.
