What Causes Heart Palpitations?

My 14 year old daughter has mentioned that her heart seems to be beating hard and fast every once in awhile. She is not short of breath but I am concerned. Will make an appt with her doctor tomorrow but wonder why this may be happening? It just did it and her pulse seemed to be about 120 beats for a couple of minuets. Any ideas?

The possibility of Medical Condition in young age are as under:
-Rheumatic Heart Disease with valvular heart disease.
-Congenital Heart Disease.
-Chronic Iron Deficiency Anaemia.
