Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having bouts of what feels like heartburn but it does not occur after eating. Randomly occurs when sitting or getting up from setting down, also sweating from the face, belching. My heart was throughly checked last year by cardiologist and all was very good.
It is due to severe acid reflex and gastritis. As a first line management drugs like omeprazole or pantoprazole can be taken. Avoid spicy foods. If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated. An endoscopy is required in severe cases.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
