What Causes Heartburn And Bloating While On Ardix Gliclazide?

I have been given Ardix Gliclazide to stop me from getting diabetes. I normally hover between 6 and7 in sugar levels, and have been prescribed to take half of the above tablet. There are no leaflets with the medicine to tell one of side affects. I am getting heartburn and bloating. Are they causing that?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand you concern.
nausea, abdominal discomfort, indigestion, bloating, diarhhoea/constipation are some of the most common side effects of the drug gliclazide.
i would advise you take tab pan D(Pantoprazole+domperidone) one tab half hr before breakfast and dinner for ten days.
the side effects usually decrease after a few days of usage.
in case the problem persists i would suggest a change of the drug after consultation with your diabetologist.
hope you are satisfied with the response.
feel free to ask further queries.
thanks for choosing HCM.
