What Causes Heartburn And Lower Abdomen Distention During IVF Treatment?
Hi, i am currently having ivf treatment. I had 1 good quality embryo transfer on the 24th august 2015. I am experiencing cramping and heartburn at thr moment. Also my lower abdomen has became distended and im constantly going for a wee. Could you advise? Many thanks.
As per my clinical experience, the heart burn may be in concern with underlying gastritis (either stress induced or medicine induced). The pain and distension lower abdomen may be secondary uterine changes following IVF treatment and usually settle down within a period of 2-3 working days.
If the same remains persistent beyond this period of time, it is matter of concern to be evaluated by your treating OBGYN.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
