What Causes Heartburns?

I have been getting a butterfly feeling in my chest for the past week or 2. It kind of feels like when you're going down a rollercoaster. I have also been geeting a little heartburn here and there, but this is not normal for me. I have Family History of heart attacks, strokes and HTN. I just had a EKG done about a month ago or so and it came back fine. What could this be?

Bried answer : Gerd

Detailed answer:

Heart burn is usualy caused by GERD , other diffrentials include
Peptic ulcer disease
barret's esophagus

Heartburns can be controlled dietry and lifestyle modifications such as decreasing caffine and alcohol intake. Try not to lie flat after meals

Several medications can b used to control these symptoms , PPIs (e.g omeprazole) are the 1st line of drug followed by anti histamines (H-2 blockers) and sucralfate.

As u also have family histroy of MI , strokes n HTN i would suggest to regulary check your BP , live healthy life style and reularly follow heart clinic.

Hope this will help.
