What Causes Heat Stroke Along With Memory Loss And High Body Temperature?

What areSymptoms of heat stroke? Memory loss? confussion? Husband is 35 yrs old. Was rushed to ER after working in 95 degrees & 45% humidity, putting on a roof in the sun. Today is experiencing confusion, problems thinking. In ER at local hospital his temperture was 107 and his blood pressure was way up. I want to know if this warrents him seeing a doctor or if it is probably a passing from the heat exhaustion he had yesterday...or if maybe he has had a stroke. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hello,

Exposure to high temperatures for a prolonged period of time may lead to heat stress due to inflammatory changes in the hippocampus leading to symptoms of heat stroke or memory loss. You are suggested to get him clinically examined in ER, he may require urgent medical support to cool down the temperature of the body and may need immediate replenishing with intravenous fluids.

In the meantime, you can give him ORS, rehydrating fluids and water orally. Heat stroke patients may develop cognitive problems, muscle damage, intolerance and inability to cope with heat, kidney and liver issues. Get Him clinically assessed by a GP and get all investigations done. Get him treated well at the earliest.
