Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Heaviness In Arms Along With Dizziness And Lack Of Energy?
I am 65 a little over weight but still active and working part time. After a spell of activity with my grand children I suffered a feeling of very heavy arms, dizziness and a temporary lack of energy, after I had sat down for a very short while the symptoms went. I have had the heavy arm feeling mainly to my left arm several times, often occurring whilst I am showering!
Your symptoms could be related to possible cervical vertebral column degeneration or blood pressure fluctuations. A heart issue can not be excluded either. For this reason, I would recommend performing some tests in order to investigate on the possible causes: - A cervical spine X-ray study - A resting ECG and a cardiac ultrasound - A complete blood count, PCR, ESR - Fasting glucose levels
Performing a cardiac stress test may be needed. In the meantime, I recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure values.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
