What Causes Heaviness In Chest When Suffering From Heart Spasms?
I have basal heart spasms. My cardiologists does not feel they are serious. I take nitro for them & it controls the spasms. I have had several of the spasms today but have only taken one tablet due to the headaches. I am a diabetic, allergic to aspirin, low blood pressure, high cholesterol controlled with medication. I am over weight but active. I am 68 yrs old. I feel like there s not enough air in the room today. Heaviness in the chest. Should I take more nitro?

Hi,
You are advised to have your EKG, echocardiogram, TMT and if indicated then coronary angiography also. Oxygen saturation should be measured by pulse oxymeter. If this is low along with symptoms, it is an indication that you may take extra dose of nitroglycerine and advised to go to ER.
