Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Heaviness In The Chest Post Vyvanse Intake?
I think I took my Vyvanse too late in the day, and may have accidentally taken more than I m used to. After about 4 hours I have had slow onset of a heaviness in my chest and extreme sensitivity to external temperature (I m quite cold). I have hypertension but cannot tell if my BP is high or low. Should I take my ACE inhibitor, Lisinopril? I also take xanax, and as I felt overly stimulated about an hour ago I took one 2 mg tablet of that. It almost seems to have brought on the heaviness in my chest area somehow. So my movements are very slow, you know the meds I have taken. Would an ACE Inhibitor like Lisinopril just make me colder? Or should I just drive up the street and check my BP at the 24 hour Pharmacy?
As per your history is concerned the overdose of medication leads to many side effects but heaviness is not the always common. So to get a clear picture follow my advise below:
1) Check your vital sign by your local doctor(BP, RR rate, Pulse, Temp)
2) Do Stress ECG to ruled out angina and if it comes back normal do Angiogram to check for blockage
3) Control your blood pressure by taking 2 drugs at a time and take regularly and restrict salt in diet
4) Do a CBC and CRP
Do all these investigations and take right medications.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best.
Thanks, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
