What Causes Heaviness In The Chest With Pain In The Jaw?
First time this happened to me. I had a heaviness in the middle of my chest and my jaw was aching. I m 59 and a female. I know that women have different symptoms than men for heart problems. Didn t last long. I have had no previous problems with my heart, have low blood pressure, do not smoke, am at a good weight. Something I should be concerned about?
Yes you should be concerned as there is very high possibility of heart ailment. Your age, midline tightness, referring to jaw strongly indicate heart problem. Even non smokers can get heart disease. Prior history may not be related as it may happen fresh. Absolutely healthy looking people can also get heart disease.
I advise my patients with such symptoms following 1 ECG 2 blood work up (lipid profile, haemoglobin levels) 3 cardiac enzymes study And then decide for treatment.
Other possibility is GERD but it is not transitory.
So visit a doctor urgently.
I hope I have clarified your question. Please provide a feedback. I wish you good health. Thanks.
