What Causes Heaviness In The Tongue While Treated For Malaria?

I have this feeling of my tongue being heavy, it doesn't affect my speech, but I feel it. My mouth also feels bitter and a nurse diagnosed that I have malaria because I vomited and I use medications for that. But please, what is the cause if the strange heaviness of my tongue?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain heaviness of tongue along with bitterness can be due to causes like Allergic reaction, side effect of medication, oral infections, nerve damage etc..

Malaria has many other symptoms and not simply bitter tongue and vomiting..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated so that any oral Infection can be looked for..

In case if there is no related oral problem then consult a Medicine specialist and get evaluated and get investigation done like blood test etc and once the cause is ruled out then only appropriate treatment can be advised..

Hope this helps..

Regards .
