What Causes Heavy Bleeding After Period Has Ended?

I finished my period yesterday. I had intercourse this evening and afterwards I started to cramp. I went to bathroom and I am bleeding heavily and passing clots. I m having pain on the right side and lower back pain. I also started back on birth control today. I take ortho tri cyclen. This will be my second month taking it

Heavy bleed may be due to endometriosis, Cyst, Polyp, or just due to an emotional stress. Hormonal imbalance is another cause for that.
