What Causes Heavy Bleeding Along With Abdominal Cramps After Taking Misoprostol?
Hi, last week on Wednesday, I took misoprostol to end my 10 wk pregnancy. I did not start bleeding until Saturday and not I have been bleeding heavily and some clots and major severe cramps. Should I go to the ER or wait til next week for my follow up appointment on next Tuesday?
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.
Your history says you have taken tab. Misoprostol, which is an early abortion medication. Following which heavy prolonged bleeding can occur for 2weeks.
I advice you to do a USG pelvis to rule out retained products if any. Also consult your gynaecologist for further assistance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
