What Causes Heavy Bleeding Along With Severe Mood Swings And Abdominal Pain?

I am seventeen, and my monthlies are odd. They re actually getting worse, by being heavier, more mood swings that get more instance as each month passes by, and I get extreme pain to where if I do not take a lot of over the counter pain meds-the maximum dosage, I can not move and one time I couldn t breathe for a tiny bit. I am not sure if something could be dangerously wrong, or if this could be rare but normal? Also, I have considered birth control for controlling this, but my friends are edging me on to seeing a doctor, which frightens me.
