What Causes Heavy Bleeding Between Periods Post D&C?

Hello!!! My age is 40. I have D&C on 14th Feb 2015 and at the same time applied multiload too. After D&C I got the period on 15th March till 17th March. But again my period started from 4th April till today which is 6th April (with heavy bleeding). Can you please suggest to me why this has happened?? Thanks.

Hi,

After a D and C (dilation and curettage) procedure, it is common to experience some bleeding and spotting for a few days. However, heavy bleeding between periods may indicate a problem.

There are several possible reasons for heavy bleeding between periods after a D and C, including:
* Infection: Infection of the uterus or cervix can cause bleeding and cramping.
* Hormonal imbalances: Hormonal imbalances, such as those caused by thyroid problems or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), can cause irregular bleeding.
* Uterine polyps or fibroids: These non-cancerous growths can cause heavy or irregular bleeding.
* Endometrial hyperplasia or cancer: In rare cases, heavy bleeding may be a sign of abnormal cell growth in the uterine lining.

It is important to speak with your healthcare provider if you experience heavy bleeding between periods after a D&C. Your healthcare provider may recommend additional testing or treatment based on the cause of your symptoms.

In addition, it is possible that the multi load (intrauterine device) you had inserted after the D&C may be causing or contributing to your symptoms. Your healthcare provider can evaluate the device to ensure it is properly in place and discuss other options if necessary.
