General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Heavy intermenstrual bleeding can be due to hormonal imbalance problems following: extreme psychological stress, premenopausal symptoms, ovarian or thyroid problems or uterine fibroid, malignancy in few cases. A detailed gynecological examination & needful investigations would pinpoint the cause followed by specific treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
