What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding After An Abortion?

I had an abortion 2 months ago. I didn t get a period for over a month. Once i did it was extremely heavy and lasted longer than usual. I figured this to ne normal. 2 weeks later i started again, even heavier than before...it lasted about 7 days. Well it as been about a week and a half and i started havi,g excruciating pain i n my lower back to where i couldnt stand. Then my cal bc s s amd feet started to swell, and i am bleeding again. Is this normal? Do i need to go to the ER? Im freaking out

Hi,

Consult a gynecologist and get evaluated. You have to take an ultrasound scan to look for any retained bits of tissues. As of now you can take Tranexa or Ethamsylate to control bleeding.
