What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding After Delivery?

Hi I live in a community of 189. I ve been having really bad period with blood clots. I gave birth almost 4 months ago and in those 4 months I ve had only two to three weeks of not having my period. I m breast feeding full time. The nurse here said that it s normal for some woman? I have to change my sanitary napkins within 30-45 minutes and have it overloaded. Should I be concerned?

Hello,

Even if you are breastfeeding full-time period may come. It is not normal to bleed for weeks with great flux and overloaded pad. You should check your blood count and platelets count. A blood clotting disorder may be possible.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
